One Island East

One Island East features 59 floors of office space with a typical floor plan of 2,300 square meters (24,760 square feet). It serves as the centerpiece of Taikoo Place, recognized as one of Hong Kong’s premier business hubs.

The building’s basic shape is a square floor plan with rounded corners and a central core. The north and south-facing corners open up on the upper floors to embrace views of the harbor. At the base, the east and west-facing corners open up to connect with the open space. The edges of the four facades extend upwards, creating a floating effect and adding lightness to the building. Architectural fins are introduced on the facade in a staggered pattern to emphasize texture and scale.

Without a podium structure, the tower stands freely in front of a large landscaped open space to the east. The Porte Cochère canopy is specifically designed as a sculptural piece. The landscaped area features platforms at different levels, incorporating water features. This urban landscape provides a suitably scaled forecourt for the building and creates a leisure space for the enjoyment of employees and the neighborhood.

The upper main lobby is connected to the rest of the Taikoo Place office complex via a bridge at the northwest corner. Through an established system of pedestrian bridges at the existing podium level, people can conveniently access Quarry Bay MTR Station. One Island East not only energizes the entire Taikoo Place complex but also plays a key role in enhancing the surrounding environment of the district.
